The Role- Regional Care Helper
The role of the Regional Care Helper is to support adults with learning disabilities and/or Mental Health Disorders in any of our Regional Homes that need extra support. You will be required to travel and work at different locations across our region so having a car and valid driving licence is essential.

On top of your £8.91 hourly rate, you will receive an incentive bonus of £50 per week (this works out as £10ph). The £50 per week incentive will be guarantee for three months*. As the role will involve travel from your normal work location, we will reimburse you with our standard mileage allowances. All applicants welcome, experienced or not, as we are offering in house training, clear career pathway and ongoing progression opportunities (full induction consisting of PPE and policies/care plans, training and shadowing)

Key Elements:
- Having a valid driving licence and your own transport is essential

- You will be required to travel and work at different locations across our region

- Providing personal care is fundamental includes bathing, toileting, dressing and feeding.

- The role consists of shift work (including sleep-ins) and weekends on a rota basis.

Additional duties/responsibilities
- As a Social Care Worker you will be predominantly caring and supporting our Service Users in their general day to day life, including personal care, activities, cooking and days out.

- To keep in line with all Service Users care plans, policies and procedures to ensure they are executed correctly (i.e. medication administering/intervention etc.)

- Ensure all care plans and any SU information/staff information is kept securely and in accordance with company policies and GDPR.

- To ensure you are wearing the relevant PPE for your shift (provided at the home).

- To always keep in line with the company’s five values.

- To keep in line with all Service Users care plans, policies and procedures to ensure they are executed correctly (i.e. medication administering/intervention etc.)

- Ensure all care plans and any SU information/staff information is kept securely and in accordance with company policies and GDPR.

- To ensure you are wearing the relevant PPE for your shift (provided at the home).

- Liaising with managers and shift leaders each shift.

- Executing any tasks provided in a timely, professional and correct manner.

- To always keep in line with the company’s five values.

- To contribute to any reports that are required (medication etc.).

- To supervise and share meal times with SU’s and to encourage a positive attitude towards food and dining.

- To assist SU’s in their activities planned for the day, whether this be in the home, to the cinema, supermarket or for a day trip.

- To use your initiative when supporting SU’s during their activities and day to day tasks.

- To contribute towards accompanying and organizing transport for SU’s to attend activities.

- Assist with the day to day running of the home, ensuring the home is clean, tidy and organised. Maintaining a high standard of hygiene is crucial.

- To report/record all accidents and incidents that may occur (including staff and SU’s) in the relevant place and to the shift leader/management as soon as possible and to obtain medical assistance/advise if required (i.e. phoning 111 for advise).

- To ensure all equipment within the home is checked including emergency fire equipment.

- To participate and contribute in staff meetings.

- To undertake any temporary duties as and when required by management (i.e. secondments to other homes, assist a fellow colleague in a task, assist a SU with a specific task etc.).

*The £50 per week incentive bonus is valid for your first 3 months of employment. We have the right to close or extend this bonus at any point.
