About the role:

As a Senior Java Developer, you will be leading the development of our next generation patient

messaging platform, integrating with partners via Restful API and developing our new API.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Embodies and upholds the teams technical and coding standards
  • A senior engineer that can guide, mentor and influence
  • At a product level potentially managing other members of the team with a strong awareness

of the role of product within the organisation

  • Work with different types of security (Single Sign On, OAuth 2, etc)

What we are looking for:


  • 4 years + of Java backend development experience
  • Clear understanding of the principles of object orientated design
  • Scrum or Extreme Programming experience
  • Microservices (React, Java)
  • Spring Boot / Spring, Hibernate
  • Test Driven Development (TDD)
  • Design Patterns and Security by design
  • API
  • Experience working with MySQL Databases
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills at all levels

Desirable skills:

  • Experience using containerisation tools such as Docker and/or Kubernetes
  • AWS/Azure
  • Software architecture, design thinking experience
