The financial services audit department works internationally to provide seamless, cross-border support to our clients. As a member of the team you will experience a broad range of clients across various sectors to build your knowledge and understanding of the financial market.

The insurance group cover clients from entrepreneurial insurance brokers to Lloyd’s syndicates and large international underwriters.

The Position

As part of the audit team, the Director will:
  • Lead a portfolio of engagements and be responsible for the effective delivery and sign off of external audit work to a high technical standard in compliance with professional standards and the firm’s policies
  • While maintaining independence, establish and maintain excellent working relationships with each client, ensuring they are satisfied with the quality and relevance of audit work;
  • Provide effective leadership to ensure audits are properly resourced and financial recovery targets are met;
  • Effectively lead and develop a number of audit managers and attract, develop and retain top talent;
  • Be part of the management team and develop the client portfolio;
  • Seek and promote innovation and the delivery of efficient audits.

Person Specification

The Director will:
  • Be a qualified accountant (ACA /ACCA or equivalent) who is currently working as a Senior Manager or above;
  • Be an IFRS Specialist with particular focus working with financial services insurance clients
  • Significant project management experience
  • Act as a role model setting high standards of quality and demonstrating commitment to self-development;
  • Communicates team goals with clarity, set clear objectives for team members that are aligned to business plans and monitor and assess performance, providing timely feedback and support as necessary;
  • Maintain and apply up-to-date knowledge of the firm’s risk management policies and operational procedures and ensures team adherence to these;
  • Ensure client expectations and issues are understood, developing collaborative relationships to identify solutions without compromising independence;
  • Select, analyse and present information to enable effective decision making and effectively communication results;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
