The Role / Position Overview
FTAdviser, the specialist publication for the financial advice industry, is looking for a Deputy Features Editor who understands what financial advisers want from digital media, how to attract them to content and maintain their interest. The role encompasses the division's leading Continuing Professional Development (CPD) offering for advisers, and the successful candidate will help shape FTAdviser’s features output to meet the needs of a rapidly changing industry.
Keeping abreast of industry trends to generate original ideas for unique and relevant features content across FTAdviser
Working with the features editor and special projects editor to plan and co-ordinate the production of features, including guides, videos and podcasts, live blogs, special reports and CPD articles
Oversee the presentation of features material on FTAdviser.com, including the use of data visualisation tools to help enhance our journalism
Writing and editing pieces on the big issues in the financial advice market, ranging from standalone interviews with key players to analyses of major companies, trends and segments of the market
Monitoring technological changes in the advice industry, and how these affect advisers’ way of working and day-to-day practices.
Required Skills / Experience
Knowledge about retail finance and educational requirements for financial advisers.
Previous experience across print, online and events, including digital editing skills.
Diary management and attention to detail.
Media law qualification and shorthand (not essential).
