The main purpose of Equity Research is to provide advice to institutional investors about the stocks they should buy or sell to make profits for their clients and we work closely with colleagues in Equity Sales, Sales-Trading and Trading to deliver the service. Our strong Research franchise with institutional investors, the market insights we develop and the close relationships we establish with the companies we cover are also very valuable to internal clients such as Investment Banking, Derivatives, Credit & Rates and Private Equity.


An opening has arisen for a Vice President or an experienced Associate level analyst to join our Equity Research European Luxury and Sporting Goods team in London. We are seeking a Banking, Accounting or Finance professional with ideally some demonstrable experience and the relevant sector knowledge.

Key responsibilities

The Candidate will be working within our top-rated European Luxury and Sporting Goods Team. The primary responsibilities will include:

  • Create robust investment analyses, ideas and recommendations within the stocks/industries covered; publish these in research publications and market these investment ideas to the global equity client base;
  • Conduct regular inquiry into the micro & macro developments within the sectoral coverage;
  • Communicate and form strong relationships with buy-side investor clients, sales & trading, corporate managements and industry participants;
  • Work with colleagues in other geographies and asset classes to provide thought-leadership to institutional clients with respect to the sectors, region & stocks covered;
  • Support the development and training of junior talent within the department;
  • Travel for marketing worldwide, both alone and with other team members;
  • Regularly maintain and update financial models and material for investment analysis.


The ideal candidate would possess command of company/industry analysis and equity valuation; Would be able to deal confidently with people at all levels of the organisation and J.P. Morgan clients in the asset management industry. Prior experience gained on the sell-side, buy-side or investment banking is required.

  • Excellent knowledge of how equity markets work, including changes to regulatory framework;

  • Natural leader, reliable team player as well as ability to work independently;
  • Fluency in English is essential; French language proficiency would be a strong plus;
