The Data Network Architecture team has a firm wide remit to deliver a broad set of data management capabilities in support of the Firmwide Data Management (FDM) Policy V2.0, in particular in support of Data Lineage and Data Authority designations.

The Data Glossary Governance Lead will be responsible for the quality & consistency of the Controlled Vocabulary terms used for describing the Firm's strategic data and related assets required to support the FDM data governance capabilities. The individual will be part of a FDM Controlled Vocabulary team responsible for providing stewardship for governing the data assets and be an advocate for promoting awareness of the principles, standards & guidelines governing the Controlled Vocabulary. The individual will be part of the core team guiding the continued evolution of the Controlled Vocabulary governance. The FDM capabilities which the Controlled Vocabulary team supports include capturing data flows, designating data authority identifying data created across the Firm's application landscape and designating Data Content Owners for application specific data sets.

The individual will report directly into an executive managing the Controlled Vocabulary assets in the Data Glossary.


§ Partner with Data Management executives responsible for Firmwide Data Management, Chief Data Officers (CDO), Information Architects (IA), Business SMEs, Critical Business Initiative project teams, and stakeholders to plan, coordinate, monitor and assist in defining fine grain and coarse grain data terms;

§ Contribute to the Principles, Standards, Guidelines and Operating Model that support the Controlled Vocabulary governance framework;

§ Ensure that the Controlled Vocabulary terms adhere to principles and standards;

§ Take accountability and manage the asset curation processes to drive consistency and quality of governed assets for specific data themes in the Data Glossary;

§ Participate in cross-LOB working group sessions where the requests are reviewed and ensure that the proposals submitted to the Governance Forum for approval are fit for purpose;

§ Facilitate Governance Forum meetings to present and review proposals and participate in the review & approval process;

§ Prepare & roll-out training on best practices for defining Controlled Vocabulary terms in Data Glossary;

§ Partner with the Data Glossary Product teams to design & implement the operating model for the Controlled Vocabulary governed assets;

§ Partner with Data Glossary Operations team to coordinate the execution of operational tasks in the Data Glossary platform to reflect decisions made as part of due diligence and in the Governance Forum.


§ Bachelor's degree;

§ 2-3+ years of experience in building business glossary / data dictionary for Firmwide Data Governance initiatives is required;

§ Experience in other Data Management/ Data Governance practices in financial services e.g., data authority, data lineage, data quality, data issue management, logical data model, is highly desirable;

§ 8-10+ years of experience in data related projects preferably in financial services industry;

§ Demonstrable, broad business knowledge across lines of business, e.g., trade capture & lifecycle management, loan/ card servicing, asset & liability management, regulatory reporting, risk management is required;

§ Strong teamwork orientation and the ability to foster collaboration within and across teams;

§ Strong verbal and written communication skills;

§ Demonstrate analytical and problem solving skills - including ability to anticipate, access and determine solution;

§ Strong relationship building skills, demonstrated consultative approach and influencing skills;

§ Excellent stakeholder management skills to drive consensus and decisions, and proven ability to deliver on tight deadlines;

§ Ability to work effectively in a high pressure, agile work environment;

§ Solid work ethic and strong sense of ownership of end result;
Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the data management and data governance field.J.P.
