The Director of Tax & Treasury will work with the Director of Finance to develop, own and manage the strategy for both Tax and Treasury across the Group. The incumbent will be responsible for implementing and driving tax and treasury operations and policies, liquidity management, cash flow forecasting, maximizing cash repatriation strategies and management of foreign exchange and borrowings. The role will require close working relationships with Banks and third-party advisors across the globe.

Key Responsibilities include:

Development and delivery of Group Tax and Treasury Policies, aligning with the growth strategy and risk appetite of the Group

Embedding Tax and Treasury within business operations while driving both functions from a Centre of Excellence

Tax:

  • Optimisation of Group structure from a tax perspective
  • Managing Group Effective Tax Rate (ETR), reviewing, proposing and implementing tax planning opportunities to reduce the corporate tax rate, minimise indirect taxes and reduce overall risk to the Group
  • Managing and enhancing Group Transfer Pricing documentation and Country by Country reporting (CBCR)
  • Preparation and review of the year-end tax provisions across the Group
  • Manage the tax compliance for all Central Group entities (UK) with oversight of global tax compliance, ensuring adherence to all legal and statutory tax obligations
  • Provision of support and guidance to both the regions and divisions with respect to all tax matters, using professional advisors when required
  • Ensure business is briefed with respect to upcoming changes in tax legislation that may impact Group operations
  • Support the Group CFO in their role as Senior Accounting Officer (SAO)
  • Ensure tight working capital management across the Group with a significant focus on cash flow forecasting
  • Maximise cash repatriation strategies, ensuring cash position is optimised, while adhering to global transfer pricing requirements
  • Management of the Group's revolving credit facility and the obligations under the facility including re-negotiation and drafting of new agreement on renewal
  • Responsible for monitoring and regular reporting of RCF covenant requirements
  • Responsible for the group cash pooling arrangements
  • Preparation of the tax notes in the financial statements

Treasury:

  • Ensuring the group has sufficient access to liquidity to (i) support its growth through increased working capital requirements and (ii) for acquisitions as required
  • Propose and implement an FX hedging strategy for the group
  • Responsibility for managing daily cash position of the Group including execution of FX and hedging where necessary
  • Formulate treasury policies and procedures, making sure they are up-to-date, relevant and adhered to
  • Ensuring that robust processes and controls are maintained in all treasury related areas across the Group
  • Maintaining and developing all relevant key relationships with our banking partners

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Ideally ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified
  • Critically CTA & AMCT qualified
  • Experience in a Global and complex Tax and Treasury function
  • Experience of working with both UK and international tax authorities
  • Significant international tax structuring knowledge and experience
  • Significant & in-depth knowledge of FX hedging, covenant reporting and drafting/negotiating of revolving facility agreements
  • Balance of tax technical knowledge with practical application of tax rules
  • Strong working knowledge of One Source tax tool including the provisioning capability
  • Previously operated at a senior management level in a commercial business
  • Experience of working in a multi-national organisation
  • Ability to roll up sleeves and operate in a very hand’s on environment
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
