The role of the Leadership Experiences – Partner Development Portfolio Manager focuses on our partner population, consisting of 1,100 partners in the UK. Our partners are the recognised senior leaders of our business – internally and externally.

We expect our partners to continually learn, adapt and grow as leaders and for them to be exemplars in terms of their ability to inspire, sponsor, develop and coach others.

All leaders play a vital role in setting expectations, enabling performance, developing their teams and shaping the experience of life at Deloitte for everyone they work with. By helping our most senior leaders, you will influence our culture, performance and how it feels to work at Deloitte.

You will work as part of a team, collaborating with two other Senior Managers. They are responsible for first level leader to director grade and Industry Learning, respectively. You will report to the Head of Leadership Experiences (UK). You will lead a small, experienced team of leadership professionals and work with a number of third parties and, where applicable faculty (of external and internal facilitators). It will be essential to collaborate closely with Global Learning and Deloitte University colleagues to develop integrated and highly valued learning solutions. You will drive a performance consulting approach, focused on how to solve the challenges and concerns of our employees, enabling them to perform and enjoy life at Deloitte. This will require high levels of: empathy, to understand the challenge; influencing, to resist the automatic “offer a course” response and creativity, to find solutions that make a difference.

Your role

You’ll be a role model for your team and lead by example, fostering a culture of inclusion, continuous improvement and adept at collaborating, communicating and inspiring those around you.

Providing both strategic and day-to-day leadership; you will stand out for your innovative approach to problem solving and ability to navigate the complexities of work at Deloitte.

Strategic planning

  • Own the end-to-end strategic approach to your Portfolio within Leadership Experiences at Deloitte UK, placing focus on identifying and implementing the key strategic initiatives for Leadership Experiences.
  • Integrate this strategy with global and regional priorities and interdependencies, including with the Deloitte University.
  • Work with Portfolio colleagues and the Head of Leadership Experiences to forecast curriculum and budget requirements and integrate into the annual planning cycle
  • Ensure that the LE (Leadership Experiences) priorities align to and deliver against the Business strategies and the Learning Business case with regards the new learning initiatives
  • Accountable to identify, source and engage quality external providers to meet requirements, and bring outside in thinking, such as working with universities and business schools, and finding best-in-class, innovative vendors who fit the needs of the business

Portfolio management

  • Act as a performance consultant, working with Talent and the business to identify business activities and impact measures and agree required leadership learning to align to challenges identified. To research, develop and recommend solutions.
  • To define, design, deliver and continuously improve grade transition offerings, enabling the successful transition into Partnership and further settlement once in grade.
  • Work closely with Global, EMEA and cross UK service lines to ensure de-duplication, retirement of old content and management of existing learning
  • To carry out regular market evaluation for the Partner Portfolio, inviting specialists in to constantly refresh ideas and methodologies

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure that delivery of solutions is at a “consumer” standard ensuring a measurable impact
  • To actively manage all activity with a focus on effectiveness and efficiency.
  • To plan and control budgets and reduce waste, through the active management of supplier contracts, internal provision and other resources.
  • Identify, mitigate and manage relevant risk issues to minimize impact on delivery of products and services
  • Work closely with Central Business Services to monitor leadership interventions, reviewing that they give best value for money and return on investment
  • To monitor all measurable savings, particularly around cost reduction and cost avoidance

Knowledge & Skills


  • Successful experience of Performance Consulting or a similar mindset/ skillset.
  • Evidence of being influential with a range of stakeholders at varied levels.
  • Successful experience of working to creatively solve “customer” challenges.
  • Demonstrable subject matter expertise in learning and leadership development
  • Successful experience of designing and deploying digital learning solutions.
  • Successful experience of Team leadership and developing others
  • Successful experience of managing complicated projects
  • Successful experience of client relationship management and across a range of service lines and hierarchical levels. We work in a matrixed environment.
  • Successful experience of vendor relationship management
  • Commercial acumen including creating budget and reviewing spend against plan.
  • Comfortable working in a fluid and highly collaborative way, happy to roll up sleeves and get stuck into developing work
  • Successful experience of innovation to solve human centred challenges.
  • High levels of emotional and organizational intelligence. A strong sense of what will work in the Deloitte environment, the ability to listen and adapt.
  • Collaborative and eager to create networks and break down barriers in order to drive a better end product and solution


  • Experience of working in a partnership.
  • Knowledge/experience of 5Di design methodology and working with Personas.
  • Knowledge of marketing or communications campaign approaches.
  • Experience of working with digital design agencies.
  • CIPD or equivalent learning qualification
  • Qualified coach.

Personal independence
