Project Manager - Rail
The role will be working within our rail division on residential developments with a rail interface.
The role is based in London, reporting to a senior manager and working on projects located in Guildford.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing the overall design development, procurement and construction of the works, with mace operations director oversight.
Assisting the client to develop the project brief.
Drafting strategic programmes.
Providing input and supporting the client during the planning process and post consent, monitor the discharge of project planning conditions.
Developing the construction procurement strategy.
Producing monthly dashboard reports including risk and cost reports.
Procuring the design team and support the client to formally appoint.
Developing, procuring and implementing a site-wide enabling works programme including surveys.
Managing the design process including development of design for planning and for tender.
Managing the client quantity surveyor ensuring timely and staged cost plan updates.
Implementing a staged value management process.
Procure the contractor - drafting bid lists and tender documents, oversee the tender process, evaluate tender returns and draft tender recommendation.
Acting as employer’s agent and administer the construction contract/s including monitoring the contractor performance.
Working with the contractor to establish the project completion strategy and monitor implementation.
Monitoring the identification, notification and correction of defects prior to completion.
Monitoring progress (against programme) on site.
Undertaking health and safety tours of the site.
Assisting the client with the Network Rail Asset Protection processes and procedures - drafting front end packs, oversee the submission of technical forms and responses to design review notices and works package plans.
You have a relevant degree qualification. You are a member of a professional institute. You have project management experience on residential projects. You have knowledge of the Network Rail Asset Protection processes and procedures. You have experience in the procurement of design consultants and managing the design process. You have experience in drafting programmes using Microsoft Project. You have experience with procurement of contractors and contract administration - JCT design and build contract. You have awareness of health, safety and environmental best practice.
