A brief overview of responsibilities of the role will include but not limited to:

  • Work with senior leaders in the local system to understand and assess risks to delivery of adult social care
  • Work in partnership with LAs, PHE, CQC, MHCLG, Contain, the NHS and DHSC policy colleagues to assure the effectiveness of national policies, particularly with regard to Covid19, but also on other policy issues
  • Provide timely and effective advice, data and assurance to ministers and Senior Civil Servants
  • As appropriate, provide direct expert advice and support to care homes and local systems and support the development of local action plans
  • Work with analysts to undertake focused analysis against key themes
  • Ensure that the team’s work aligns with other Government priorities and the wider health and social care system


Responsibilities

The key skills and experiences that we are looking for are:

  • Credible sector leadership with excellent influencing/negotiating skills
  • Experience of delivering rapid improvement at a local or national level and a good track record of development and innovation
  • Significant experience of delivery through partnership working and at pace
  • Extensive understanding of social care and Covid 19 response including an ability to translate policy intentions into operational initiatives and good practice
  • An understanding of improvement methodology
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills with the ability to deliver complex messages to a variety of audiences
