The Role

The role is for a senior broker within our Financial Solutions Credit & Political Risk team, based in London. This role will involve working in a team focusing on a broad base of UK and International financial institution clients.

Duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to :
  • Liaising with clients on new transactions, drafting of term sheets and broking risks in Lloyd’s and Company markets
  • Working with existing clients to review their existing programmes, presenting the best possible solutions and client outcomes
  • Negotiation of policy wordings / contract reviews
  • Drafting of amortisation schedules and premium reconciliations
  • Assist with the day-to-day management and administration of the client portfolio, including issuing mid-term adjustments and amendments and generally providing post-sales support.
  • General advice and support to the client by email, telephone and face to face meetings as required
  • Assist with the delivery of new business targets within Line of Business
  • Assist with the execution of the FI strategy working in collaboration with the other FI teams as well as external stakeholders

The Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following skill sets & attributes:
  • Educated to degree level
  • ACII qualification preferable but not essential
  • Ability to speak a second language (Spanish) preferable but not essential
  • Extensive knowledge of Non-Payment Insurance and bank loan facilities with in-depth market experience in this class
  • Be able to assist in preparation of proposals and presentations using marketing resources, practice groups and other producers
  • Working knowledge of Market Reform Contracts
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Be able to maintain face-to-face and telephone contact with clients and Underwriters
  • Problem solving and decision making skills essential
  • Excellent communication (written, verbal, oral & presentation) skills and interpersonal skills essential
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment where lateral thinking, initiative, self-motivation and decision-making skills are crucial
  • Leadership skills
