We are currently looking for a Specialty Department Manager (Cheese & Wine) to lead a team of six in our Fulham store. The person we are looking for has a relentless focus on customer service, an astute commercial mindset & a proven background in the coaching and development of people to nurture talent and expand capability. This role is working five days out of seven, an eight-hour shift worked anywhere between the hours of 6am – 9:30pm so must be able available to work between these times.

The Main Responsibilities of a Specialty Assistant Department Manager:

  • Working with the speciality team to drive retail excellence & share best practice to maximise commercial opportunities
  • Use analysis of stock & sales reports to drive commercial decisions
  • Day to day running of the department ensuring quality, date and stock checks are completed on time
  • Full accountability for coaching, training and team development
  • Build strong relationships with the Store Leadership Team, collaborating with other department managers sharing resources and space & working with the Regional Speciality team
  • Drive densities and work with the buyer to make well informed purchasing, mix & merchandising decisions to maximise profitability
  • Ensure all price changes are completed on time & audit signage execution for pricing, provenance & organics
  • Overall responsibility for the merchandising plans. Develop layouts to optimise sales, profitability & add value to the customer experience
  • Payroll preparation including checking hours worked are correct
