UKNSC & Screening Evidence Database Project Manager

Public Health England London a month ago

The UK National Screening Committee (UK NSC) advises Ministers and the NHS in the four UK countries about all aspects of screening and supports implementation of screening programmes. Using research evidence, pilot programmes and economic evaluation, the UK NSC assesses the evidence for programmes against a set of internationally recognised criteria covering the condition, the test, the treatment options and the effectiveness and acceptability of the screening programme. The UK NSC is now listed as a Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC). Screening programmes are introduced on the basis of robust peer reviewed evidence where the balance to screen offers more good than harm. The UK NSC is a four-country devolved organisation and has made recommendations in over 100 disease areas ranging from Fetal, maternal, child and adult conditions.

The Committee’s website is currently being updated. A project manager is required to take this, and other projects, forward.

The Committee’s website project has reached the public beta phase and the postholder will be responsible for managing this phase of the project and leading on strategic projects relating to the website within the UK NSC Secretariat.

The time on the website project may vary and the post holder will oversee the delivery of projects for the Screening Programmes should this fit with website project timetable. As part of this alternative work, the postholder will be expected to contribute to the Evidence Team’s cycle of evidence review projects. This is anticipated to be no more than 25% the work of the post.

The post will require close working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure that project resources organised in an effective manner.
